EYE This is Film!
Film Heritage in Practice by Giovanna Fossati, 14 March-16 May 2018
Every Wednesday at 15:30, March 14 to May 16. Lectures on film heritage and notable restoration projects
This is Film! Film Heritage in Practice is a six-session series at EYE offering insight into what happens behind the scenes in film archives, museums and cinemas. Together with international and national experts, the series will address topics of importance to film heritage, such as found footage filmmaking, the revival of 70mm, the art of film projection, Technicolor, silent film restoration, and film laboratory practices. The lectures include film screenings.
Each session will cover a different topic and feature an introductory lecture by Giovanna Fossati (Chief Curator at EYE and Professor of Film Heritage at the University of Amsterdam), followed by an interview and Q&A with invited experts on the session’s topic and a film screening.
The series will be open to members of the general public interested in film. The lectures are in English and can be attended as a series or on a one-off basis.
EYE, IJpromenade 1, Amsterdam.
